THIS MONTH WE ARE PROUD TO HIGHLIGHT: Haven for Hope, in San Antonio, Texas.

Haven for Hope is a new community that has been created to assist homelessesness. With incredible cooperation from the government, private sector and local social services community, San Antonio has a greater possibilty in changing the homelessness issue within their city.

Haven for Hope is a safe environment that allows people in the cycle of homelessness to still be homeless if they choose by providing an outdoor courtyard that is safe or an avenue of change for the people who choose that route. To make the change people are allowed to stay in their shelter that provides minimal comfort in a safe environment by accepting requirements including things such as no alcohol and no weapons. More comfortable beds are made available to those who accept more responsibility in changing their lives, and a private room is made available to those who accept a plan to change their life including getting a job. Haven for Hope assists those people with services to aid in making this process successful.
