Your Home On A Budget

Whether you are moving into your first home or apartment, or just wanting to add some things that you find necessary into your home, it can be done on a budget. Here are some tips on where to find some simple essentials for your home.

*Wine glasses, Plates, Bowls, Mugs: Dollar stores carry a lot of sturdy dishes. I have actually bought these items from there myself. Sometimes on the bottom of the dish you will find names of major stores. Could they have been an imperfect piece in their line? I'll take their imperfect piece for a dollar.

*Pots and Pans: As long as you are not looking for top of the line pots and pans, you can find basic essentials at your local grocery store for a great price.

*Furniture and decorations: You can find some great bargain furniture at your local Goodwill, thrift store, or garage sale and/ or estate sale. Sometimes it may take a little bit of looking, but what you find can be worth it, especially if you desire a unique piece at a bargain price.

*Hygiene and over the counter medication products: Check your newspaper and see who has items on sale. What I usually find is that the local pharmacies like to compete for our business especially if they have stores right across the street from each other.

*Seasonal and gift items: Always check the clearance racks. Clearance racks are notorious for having amazing sales at every store; even stores we did not before expect them at. Whether it is your local grocery store, fashion store, hardware store, boutique, craft store, or whatever store you frequent or don't (because you thought they were too expensive); check out clearance racks everywhere because you might just find a good deal where you least expected it.

*Magazines and Books: Check out the free magazines at your local grocery store. Many grocery stores carry a few magazines that have great content and incredible photogaphs and/ or art work that are completely free to the reader because they gain all their profit through advertising. Also, many times you can get free magazines and books at your local book store. These will be the magazines and books that they had left over and could not sell. The only draw back is that they will only allow you to take these magazines and books is if the cover of the magazine or book is ripped off before they give it to you.
